Za svoji besedi leta sta izbrala "moč" in "odnosi"

V petek, 20.1.2023 sta Robidišče obiskala direktorica občinske uprave Metka Gregorčič in župan občine Kobarid Marko Matajurc. Seznanili smo jih s pobudami, ki smo jih podali vaščani preko vaške skupnosti ter si skupaj ogledali vse delčke vasi in vse izzive, ki nas čakajo.

Strinjala sta se, da nam mora biti v interesu ohraniti arhitekturno dediščino, vsak od nas pa lahko veliko pripomore k dobremu počutju tudi sam.

Ob tem sta se ustavila in pozdravila tudi najstarejšega vaščana, Rudija, tem mu obljubila pomoč in podporo, če bi jo rabil.

 

Ob koncu sta bila izzvana, da si izbereta svoji besedi leta. Tako smo si zaželeli še veliko zdravja, dobre odnose in moč, da skupaj premikamo meje možnega. :-)

I met the grand-grand-grand son of Johanna Cencič - who was born in Robidišče in 1823!

Yesterday, I took the train from Munich to Berlin. A man in his 60s joined my compartment. He had this super old laptop and a pile of paper copies in front of him. On those copies, old writing, numbers, lots of names.. I was curious and asked him. He shared with me, that his father started his genealogical research years ago. When he died at 95 - his soon took over his research, digitized and compiled a network of over 20.000 names - far beyond his family - but reconstructing family lines of an entire area. He is from a small village in Kärnten (Austria) and has lived in Berlin since 1994. Soooo.... after 2 hrs of talking about this and that (it is a long train ride between Munich and Berlin) - I mentioned that I am living in a small village in Slovenia. I described the landscape, the architecture and also mentioned the most common last name in the village: Cencič. This was the moment - where this man stopped talking. He eyes wide open. "Cencič?" - he asked - "the name sounds familiar to me!"  He checked in his huge database (see picture). Can you believe it? 

I met the grand-grand-grand son of Johanna Cencič - who was born in Robidišče in 1823 - in a train from Munich to Berlin in 2023.

Iz zaprašenega arhiva - 1998...

 ... je potegnila Nataša diapozitive svojega prvega obiska Robidišča, ki sega v leto 1998. Po obisku popotresnega Bovca so si ogledali še Robidišče, kjer jih je sprejel Simon na svoji domačiji. Tretji letnik geografije in Nataša, Nina in Mare Arnuš, Uroš Brankovič, Matija Zorn in Simon Škvor. Še vedno se radi srečamo. 

Veseli bomo še kakšnih spominov!

Ženske!

Če so bili moški nepogrešljivi pri snovanju domov iz težkih kamnitih gmot, pa so gotovo ženske tiste, ki so skrbele za tople domove, skrbele za družine in si dajale druga drugi moč v teh težkih krajih. 

Tudi me, ženske Robidišča 2023, smo se zbrale, si zakurile ogenj, naredile njoke z omako iz domačega žajblja ter se menile in menile.

V mislih na tiste, ki jih danes ni bilo z nami fizično, a so del Robidišča, del dediščine, del tradicije v tranziciji. 6 žensk, 4 jeziki.

Hvala, do naslednjič,  ko nas bo še več. Ustvarjale bomo belo močenje.

"As a recent transplant from the huge town of Celje, I can't tell you how delighted I was to be part of a woman's gathering here in Robidišče. I can talk about the activities we conducted, but it was more than that. It was a deep sense of belonging and acceptance. It was women supporting and learning and teaching and growing. And of course we ate and drank and made gnocchi and had desserts. But moreover we laid a foundation for the sisterhood here. Watch out!!"

Fun. Resolution. Connection. Challenge. Birthday. Piano. Laughing. Being present. Growth. Holidays. Life.

As an American expat, choosing to settle in Robidišče, I'm humbled to be standing on the shoulders of those who have lived and loved and struggled here.

I was delighted to host a New Year's Day brunch for many members and friends of the village. We laughed, we ate, we drink, we announced our intention for the year. We supported each other. We deepened our connections. A significant start to 2023. Adults and children alike shared their visions. A post-it note tapestry was woven in this Westernmost village.
